Zest. Pop. Clean.

Zest is where citrus keeps so much of its beautiful aroma—but it is easy to miss the good part and dig straight into the bitter white pith.

Dreamfarm Ozest is designed to make the job faster, finer and far less fiddly. Its concave plate guides lemons, limes and oranges along the centre of 441 super-fine blades, creating light, fluffy zest. When you are finished, push the button to release the zest clinging to the blade instead of scraping it off with your fingers.

The protective cover also works as a zest catcher and measures up to two tablespoons, so more of that flavour makes it into your cooking.

Why it earns a spot in the Underground Chef kitchen

Because zest is one of the quickest ways to wake up a dish.

Citrus juice adds acidity and liquid. Zest brings fragrant citrus flavour without changing the balance or consistency in quite the same way. A little over pasta, seafood, vegetables, dressings or dessert can make the whole dish taste fresher and more finished.

Ozest also fixes the annoying parts of zesting:

  • 441 fine 1mm blades create fluffy, aromatic zest
  • Concave shape gives you more contact and guides food down the centre
  • Push-button cleaning releases zest caught on the blade
  • Protective cover makes storage safer
  • Catcher and measure holds up to two tablespoons of zest

What Makes Fine Zest Different?

Fine zest distributes evenly through a dish, so you get citrus aroma without large pieces of peel. The photo-etched blades are angled to remove the colourful outer zest while helping you stay clear of the bitter white pith underneath.

That makes it ideal when you want the citrus flavour to disappear into the dish—not sit on top in coarse strips.

How to Use It

For Lemons, Limes & Oranges
  • Draw the fruit lightly along the centre of the blade.
  • Rotate the fruit as soon as the white pith begins to show.
  • Press the button over your bowl to release any zest clinging to the blade.
Brighten Savoury Cooking
  • Add lemon zest to pasta, risotto, roast vegetables, seafood or chicken.
  • Stir it through dressings, marinades, gremolata, flavoured butter or breadcrumbs.
  • Finish a rich dish with zest when it needs freshness but not more liquid.
Bring Desserts to Life
  • Add orange, lemon or lime zest to cakes, biscuits, icing, custards and cream.
  • Zest over yoghurt, fruit, pancakes or chocolate desserts before serving.
More Than Citrus
  • Finely grate hard cheese, chocolate or nutmeg.
  • Grate fresh ginger or garlic into dressings, sauces and marinades.

Chef Ian’s Tip

Zest your citrus before you cut and juice it—the whole fruit is much easier and safer to hold.

Use light pressure and keep rotating the fruit. You only want the brightly coloured outer skin; once you see white, move to a fresh section. For the clearest aroma, add a little zest near the end of cooking or just before serving.

And let the button do the cleaning. Hold Ozest over the bowl, press to release the clinging zest, then put the cover back on before it goes into the drawer.
